new life for design classics
Over 30 years of experience in giving new life to classics
At KLASSIK, we have been restoring and reupholstering original Danish furniture classics since 1991. For more than three decades, our workshop has refined and preserved iconic furniture designed by some of Denmark's greatest designers – including Arne Jacobsen, Børge Mogensen, Hans J. Wegner and Poul Kjærholm. The combination of original frames, strong constructions and professional reupholstering means that a classic piece of furniture can last for many years when renovated correctly.
Quality, professionalism and great respect for the originals
When we receive a piece of furniture for reupholstery, we always assess its condition, construction and needs. Many original pieces of furniture from manufacturers such as Fritz Hansen, Fredericia Furniture and AP Stolen are manufactured in a quality that is particularly suitable for renovation. Our approach is always to preserve the original expression of the piece of furniture, while bringing comfort and function to a level that matches today's use.
Upholstery in carefully selected materials
Upholstery is at the core of our work. We offer a selection of quality leathers and textiles – including aniline leather, semi-aniline, dyed leather, vegetable tanned leather, wool textiles and lambskin. The materials are chosen for their durability, comfort and aesthetics and are used to reupholster design classics such as The Egg, The Swan, The Seven, BM 2213, BM 2204, BM 2207 and the Teddy Bear Chair.
Thorough craftsmanship and a result that lasts
A well-executed reupholstery is not just about new upholstery, but about correct craftsmanship in every step. We work with traditional methods and techniques that take into account the structure and construction of the furniture, so that both comfort and expression are preserved. When a piece of furniture is finished, it has been examined with great care and is ready for many new years of use.
A responsible solution with a focus on quality and longevity
Having your furniture reupholstered is a sustainable and sensible alternative to buying new. By preserving the original frame, the life of the furniture is significantly extended, while resources and materials are better utilized. Many people choose reupholstery because they want high quality, long durability and a result that respects both design and history.
